'Christmas' is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Jesus. It is celebrated on 25th December every year. It is the most important festivals of the Christians. Christmas Day is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in countries around the world. 

On this occasion great preparations are made by the Christians. All houses and churches are cleaned and white washed. The Christmas tree is decorated with artificial stars, lights, toys etc. on this day. At night candles and electric bulbs are lighted on its twigs. 

Santa Claus and other seasonal figures are held on this day. Any person disguised as Santa Claus distributes sweets among the children. Family reunions and the exchange of gifts are a widespread feature of the season. Cakes and puddings are set ved. Children get dressed in new clothes. Prayers are offered in churches.

Full name of 'Mahatma Gandhi' was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was born in Porebandar of Gujarat, India on 2 October 1869. After passing the Matric Examination he went to England for higher studies. Gandhiji completed his law in England and came back to India in 1893. He started his career as a lawyer. 

Social Life of Gandhiji was started in South Africa. In South Africa he faced many hurdles. He discovered that the white men were ill treating the dark Indians there. He himself was tortured and insulted by the white often. One day, he was travelling in a first class compartment a train. He had booked a ticket for him. Still he was evented and punished out of the compartment by the white men. Gandhiji fought against this unjust and cruel treatment. He observed Satyagraha there and became successful.

Gandhiji returned to India and took part in freedom fight. He was sent to jail many times. Now all the countrymen were with him. He started the Non-co-operation in 1930 and the Quit India Movement in 1942. He became famous as the 'Father of Nation' Lastly India wins freedom on 15th August 1947.

Gandhi's style of living was very simple. He was follower of 'Simple living, high thinking'. He taught us the lesson of 'Ahimsa'. He removed the caste barrier in India. He was a reformer. He was shot dead by an Indian on his way to attend a prayer on 30 January, 1948. Mahatma Gandhi is remembered in the world for his major virtues.

'Wild Animal' is a term that refers to animals that are not normally domesticated. Wild animals generally live in forests. The major wild animals of India are elephant, tiger, lion, rhino, bear etc. Wild animals are a living resource that will die and be replaced by others of their kind. Wild animals plays an important role in balancing the environment and provides stability to different natural processes of nature. It can be found in all ecosystems, desert, rainforests, plains and other areas. India's wildlife is both rich and varied, it includes all flora and fauna, animals, plants and macro organisms.

Wild animals are important for their beauty, economic, scientific and survival value. It helps to maintain the ecological balance of nature and maintains the food chain. It provides useful substances and wild animal products like ivory, leather, honey, tusk etc. Besides being a country's cultural asset it also provides aesthetic value to man. We largely depend on wild animals for every elementary requirement in our life eg. the clothes we wear and the medicines we consume.

Wildlife conservation encompasses all human activities and efforts directed to preserve wild animal from extinction it involves both protection and scientific management of wild species. Wildlife and nature have largely being associated which humans for numerous emotional and social reasons. Wildlife plays an essential role in the ecological and biological processes that are yet again significant to life. The normal functioning of the biosphere depends on endless interaction among animals, plants and micro organisms. Wildlife has occupied a special place of veneration and preservation in various cultures of the world.

Short Biography of 'Subhash Chandra Bose' (180 Words)

'Subhas Chandra Bose' was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa, India. His mother's name was Prabhavati Devi. His father Janakinath Bose was an advocate.

In the course of struggle for freedom Subhas Chandra Bose formed 'Azad Hind Fauz' and led the 'Indian National Army'. He advocated a revolutionary and violent way to protest as opposed to non-violent approach by Mahatma Gandhi. He separated from Indian National Congress (INC) and founded his own party 'All India Forward Block'. 

Subhas Chandra Bose was one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian Independence Movement. He spread the feeling of national integration, sacrifice and communal harmony among the masses.

Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti is celebrated on 23rd January every year across the country. His Jayanti is celebrated in a grand way among the party members of Forward Block. All the district administration and the local civic body also observe Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti. Many N.G.O.s organizes Blood Donation Camps. On this day the schools organize various activities as exhibition, quiz and cultural programs. His birthday is also celebrated as Desh Prem Diwas.
